Enter and leave Taiwan on the Taiwan passport every time. For Japan (Okinawa), check in and enter on the US passport. No arrival card to fill in for Taiwan.每次進出台灣都用台灣護照。去日本（沖繩）報到和入境用美國護照。回台灣不用填入境卡。
Weather — cold indoors天氣——屋子裡會冷
Taichung is usually 15–24 °C and dry. Taipei is 13–20 °C, grey and often rainy. Houses have no heating, so pack warm layers for inside, not just outside.台中通常 15–24°C，比較乾。台北 13–20°C，常陰天下雨。家裡沒有暖氣，要帶在屋子裡穿的保暖衣服。

Up to 2 checked bags each (32 kg) on China Airlines. The Taipei and Okinawa trips are carry-on only.華航每人可以托運 2 件（每件 32 公斤）。台北和沖繩的小旅行只帶登機行李。
Getting around交通
An EasyCard (悠遊卡) works on trains, MRT, buses and at convenience stores. Train seats for weekends sell out — we book as soon as they open (about 2 weeks ahead).悠遊卡可以搭火車、捷運、公車，也可以在便利商店用。週末的火車對號座會賣光——一開賣（約兩週前）就訂。
Money錢
Taiwan is still cash-first outside chains. Take cash from a bank ATM (post office, CTBC, E.Sun), not an airport exchange counter.除了連鎖店，台灣很多地方還是用現金。用銀行提款機領錢（郵局、中信、玉山），不要在機場換匯櫃台換。
Health健康
Bring the NHI card (健保卡), enough medicine for 7 weeks in the original bottles, and a written list of medicines.帶健保卡、七個禮拜份量的藥（原包裝），還有一張寫好的用藥清單。
